Community Service Intiatives ![]()
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. has long demonstrated an interest in serving the needs of the community. Spanning the Sorority's nearly thirty-year partnership with the March of Dimes to its relationship with the Human Genome Project, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. has been at the forefront of anticipating the ever-changing needs of society.
It is within this framework that the International Service Initiative for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Z-H.O.P.E. (Zetas Helping Other People Excel) was created. Z-H.O.P.E. is an interactive, holistic and multidimensional outreach service initiative designed to enhance, cultivate and empower participants to develop health promoting lifestyle choices across the lifespan. Z-H.O.P.E. builds on the Sorority's legacy of service by offering a service initiative that addresses the mission-critical needs of a shifting population. Z-H.O.P.E. promotes community collaboration by encouraging Zeta chapters to partner with existing community organizations and resources to provide optimal quality programs.
Delta Alpha Zeta Chapter implements a number of Z-H.O.P.E. projects, such as: Z-Pack It Up (collecting and distributing school supplies for needy children); Stork’s Nest (a partnership with the March of Dimes instituted to encourage women to seek prenatal care); Educational Opportunities, via our AIDS/HIV Awareness workshops (an annual scholarship event held to raise money for Brooklyn youth seeking financial assistance in an effort to attend institutions of higher learning).
Delta Alpha Zeta Chapter also makes financial contributions to the following organizations:
