    Haiti Relief Efforts


    On January 12th, 2010, a series of earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 6.5 to 7.3 devastated Haiti. The American Red Cross is working with its partners in the global Red Cross and Red Crescent network, including the Haitian Red Cross, and other partners to assist those affected by this disaster.

    As the world continues to step forward in this time of tragedy, Delta Alpha Zeta asks that you give what you can and donate to the American Red Cross.

    Delta Alpha Zeta Chapter was organized April 22, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY by charter members Sorority Founder Fannie Pettie Watts, 5th International President Dr. S. Evelyn Lewis, Mamie Briggs Adair, Dr. Alma Haskins Allen, Louise Lashley Batson, Sarah Belford, Dr. Leona McCants Davis and Ethlyn Hurd Lamos.

    With sixty years of service to the Brooklyn community, Delta Alpha Zeta Chapter has served the borough in numerous capacities, with countless hours of volunteerism and numerous donations to various charitable organizations such as: Delta Alpha Zeta Chapter College Scholarship, Nazarene Congregational United Church of Christ Scholarship (in the name of Fannie P.  Watts), United Negro College Fund, New York City Special Olympics, March of Dimes, NAACP, Thanksgiving Baskets to Needy Families, Cypress Day Care Children's Christmas Party, Global Day of Service, New York Cares, US Census, and the Delta Alpha Zeta Stork's Nest Foundation.
